Lukuvi Asks to Reduce Conditions for Housing and Land Registrations to Valuers Board-Tanzania
William Lukuvi, the Minister of Land, Housing, and Human Settlement Development, has urged the Valuers Registration Board to reduce the complications and ease the process for owners. He further insisted the board increase the technical staff and professionals to make the process smoother and faster.
The Minister advised the authorities to take immediate actions on the occasion of the 2nd Annual General Meeting of the Board. The Minister added that he visited various regions and found numerous things to be reconsidered. There are hundreds of valuers who are not happy with the current structure of the registrations with the board. Almost 80% of the valuers presented in the meeting were not registered and wanted the Miniter to take the matter up for them.
The Chairperson, Dr. Cletus Ndjovu, addressed the meeting and said that there are only 117 valuers who are fully registered, and a total of 739 values are provisionally registered with the board. He further added that the board has managed to register 50 companies all over the country and has plans to get more and more in the circle. He also said that the individuals are also prioritized to get them in the registered circle of the company.
The meeting was so productive, and there were multiple topics discussed between members and potential valuers. For example, in the real estate market in Tanzania, Land and Property taxation, valuation practice, and more crucial things were taken on board.
Me Lukuvi also instructed all the valuers not to take their jobs for granted and maintain professionalism under their job capacity. He tried to make them realize that professionalism and ethical practices are the key factors that can curb unrealistic valuations and ultimately help overcome the problems of funds allocations, land, and property malicious distribution.
He further instigated that delayed payments and compensations are the main barriers we need to eradicate as soon as possible.
